He was there when time
Took her first steps
And taught her to flow
To the rhythm of His current
From His gentle banks
The earth burdened forth
Bearing good and noble life
With river in its veins

But when evil damned
Our hearts to drought
This Great River surged
With ram wood on His back
And stone rolling forth
To demolish
Our concrete cast hearts
And release the flow
From hands which sought control
Of His wild and humbling power
